This week’s Spotlight Special at Savvy n Sassy features the October Afternoon Papers and all the Mini Albums. These items will be on special in the store from July 2nd -10th.

I enjoyed creating this mini  album of my boys featuring October Afternoon Weathervane papers and a Basic Grey Album. These are the Spotlight Special  items on SALE this week at Savvy n Sassy!  The title of my mini album is “A Everyday Adventure”, it focuses on just the everday moments at home, which can be some of our most cherished  memories. I altered the laces to the color I  desired by using Shimmerz Spritz.

Just because this kit says “danger zone” doesnt’ mean it’s just for boyish layouts. I made some fun cards with it too…dotted grossgrain is the best!

One of my favorite things to do is make the body of a butterfly with my ribbons.

And for this layout, I tucked my pompom trim in the fold at the bottom of the patterned paper.

And this layout, I used a bit of the ricrac on my homemade birthday hat.

For this frame, I wrapped my ricrac around the tag.

June ~ Tropical Splash

This was a great kit to work with. I  used the white lace with some Glimmer Mist to alter to the color I desired. I  also  used the turquoise loop braid, this color is fabulous!

Ever wonder if you can do something a bit fancier than a card with just one sheet of 8.5×11 paper or cardstock?  Well, I am here to tell you, YOU CAN!

Here is the little project we will be working on.  Is it cute?

iloveface

Materials:

  • 1 sheet of pattern cardstock or plain cardstock (8.5×11)(I am using Harmonie Loisirs PP)
  • 1 scrap of paper to stamp your greeting on
  • Greeting Stamp (I am using Daisy Bucket “I love your face” stamp from SNS’ store)
  • Ribbon
  • buttons
  • tape or glue
  • dimensional pop dots (optional)
  • scor-pal (optional, but I love mine)

Instructions:

  1. With the short side of your piece of cardstock (8.5×11) to the top of your Scor-pal, score at 2.5 AND 6 inches.  (If not using Scor-Pal, score at 2.5 and 6 at the short side.
  2. Turn your paper around and now with your long side to the top of your Scor-pal, score at 4.5 AND 6.5 inches.  (If not using Scor-Pal, score 4.5 and 6.5 at the long side.
  3. Pre-fold all sides using your bone folder.  You want a good crease.
  4. Bring the horizontal fold to the vertical fold. and crease.  You are creating a diagonal fold.  Do this on all four sides.  Make sure you crease well those folds.
  5. Prefold the box by bringing the diagonal folds towards the box center. (so you know where to put your sentiment).
  6. Stamp your sentiment and color it on a piece of scrap paper.  Glue or add dimensional pop dots to the image into the front of the box.
  7. Fold the box, you don’t need to add glue (but I did add to mine to keep it a bit more sturdier)
  8. Put the flaps together and punch two holes (both flaps at the same time) to thread the ribbon through.
  9. Thread ribbon and tie some buttons to the ribbon.

Special thanks to Beate Johns for such a great idea and tutorial, at Split Coast Stampers.

Hi everyone!

Here is what I did with the “A Day In the Yard” kit!  This is a fun kit since it is all little pom-pom trims!  And who doesn’t love pom-poms?

becauseofyou

I wanted to add emphasis to the picture, since so much is going around it.  So I decided to add the blue pom-pom trim to the framed photo.  Notice that I since it was not the perfect match of color, I decide to add a few different flowers and sticker to play with different hues and values of blue.

inside-outLife is better with an Oreo!  (I think I might scrap that picture again with that statement as a title.)  I wanted to celebrate my daughters joy of eating an oreo.  I used some of the SnS May Kit – Ann’s Picks for the tag and a some brown pom-poms from SNS June kit – A day in the yard.  The brown was just perfect to reflect the color of the Oreos, plus it added some fun and a celebrating touch, don’t you think?

intrainingIn the “in training” LO, I wanted to keep it simple but happy, so that is why I chose the color red.  Red depicts passion, and that is what I saw in you while you enjoyed watching people go on the roller coaster.  For this LO, it wasn’t sure how I was going to use the pom-pom trim, but I knew I wanted to staple it.  This type of trims are better when stapled to the LO than glued.  I just needed to groun the picture a bit more since it wasn’t framed, and that trim just added the needed help.

Estate Sale

Sadly this is the end of my design team term with Savvy N Sassy. It has been so much fun! I have loved working with all the gorgeous ribbons each month and the other wonderful ladies from the design team! Thank you Savvy N Sassy!!

This month my kit is the ZZ June Estate Sale kit. I just love the blues and the huge variety of different ribbons in the kit!

A Splash of Summer

IMG_6743

The kids have such fun each summer going to Peanut Beach and using our inflatable boat. I used the pompom trim to add some waves to the photo.

We Are Family

IMG_6725

I used a scallop motiv, the measuring tape ribbon and some tied ribbon for this family layout.

Sweet Fun

IMG_6748

I just loved this pompom trim and used it on quite a few of my projects. Lots of flowers on this page and some ribbon tied through the buttons.

Love & Togetherness

IMG_6751

I used a Magistical Memories chipboard heart border as well as the Pebbles Inc. So Tweet line for this layout. The pompom trim, some doodling and ribbon crisscrossed under buttons finishes it off.

Time Together

IMG_6754

I used a lot of different elements for this boyish page of my son and our dog. The wavy black and white ric rac and measuring tape ribbon help as accents on my page.

Thank You Card

Brothers Card

IMG_6713

I used a My Mind’s Eye kit to make these 2 cards, as well as some black Kaiser gems and black ribbon from the kit.

Thanks for looking,

Linda
