A huge thanks to our July Guest Designers Amnanda and Kelly. They did a fantastic job with thier kits!
Hi, my name is Kelly Birrell and I’m a ribbon addict! I’m from a small town in southern Indiana, married to a wonderful guy, and Momma to 3 wild and crazy girly girls. I’ve been scrapping for almost 8 years, ribbon addict for about 2 years now. I’m referred to as the Ribbon Queen (and Chipboard Queen, but that’s a whole other obsession we won’t go into!) by my scrappy friends. I absolutely love creating and try and scrap something at least everyday! I’m so excited to have been chosen as Guest DT’er for this wonderful ribbon club! Here are a few of the things I created with my kit!
ZZ July #1 – Vintage Summer Kit
Hello! My name is Amanda and I live in Ontario, Canada with my hubby of almost three years and our wonderful one-year-old son. They are the subject of a lot of my layouts. I have been scrapbooking for almost ten years and stamping for 3 years. I love this hobby! It’s so addicting! But it’s a good addiction! I find it invigorating when I create new projects with all the great products available to us! I was on a design team for LSS for a short time and I teach classes on a regular basis. I have had some of my work published on a scrapbooking website! I also have my own scrapbook design business. You can check out my website at www.inascrap.com. I’ve turned my hobby that I love into a ”job” that I love!!
I got hooked on scrapbooking I think because I love to take pictures and I LOVE being creative. I have always had very graphic school projects and loved cutting pictures out and decorating my binders and cover pages…I should have gone to university for graphic design or something of that nature…I don’t know why I love it so much…When I get passionate about something, I like to jump in with both feet. I have always dabbled in various “fad” crafts…my parents’ entire house had hodge-podged items all over at one point! I did folk art painting too; I’ve decorated cakes (and still do!). But for some reason, scrapbooking stuck. I love scrapbooking and I have, of course, jumped in with both feet again into stamping as well. It’s amazing how your style changes over even a year though. I already want to re-do my wedding albums and I have only been married for (almost) three years ago! It’s so rudimentary in my opinion but I guess it just shows how you grow over the years.
I’m truly honoured to be chosen as a guest designer for July. I loved working with such great products. I’ve been in the company of some great designers and a lot of talent.

I made this album for my mom, using some old chipboard from packaging, they are covered with Basic Grey papers, then I used bazzill cardstock, Wishblade for cutting the title and the swirls, and my Bind it all to bind it all together LOL. And of course Sassy July kit.

Just a little recipe card

I find this kit very versatile, I decided to use the ribbons on a recipe card that is 6×6 when closed and 12×6 when open, I made 14 of them!
Using Bazzill cardstock, Sassy July kit, Basic Grey papers, Bazzill blossoms, gems.

Here is one more layout I created with Sassy July kit, I love this kit, the colours are just awesome! This layout is using Kurio papers from Walmart, Sassy July kit, and Urban Lily paper, Colorbok letters.

This idea journal’s elastic closure was kicked up a notch with the Super Star kit ribbons, the iron on star on the acrylic frame is also from the same kit….fun stuff!!!!! I am really enjoying using this journal!!!
