SNS November Ice Storm Kit

Here are my projects this month – and I still have a ton of ribbon left to use!

I used the Huge White Cotton Cluny Lace from the kit. It was a little bright for my page, so I inked it with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I love this technique! Other products Used: Autumn Leaves PP & Glaze Pen.

Here I used the Navy Blue Sonic Velvet from the kit. This Ribbon is just luscious! I love the texture and shape of this ribbon! I also used Art Freckles Fall Equinox kit, Stash Rhinestones & label maker. The middle label on the LO I blacked out purposely as these are not my children.

I used: Navy Blue Cluny Lace from the kit. I added some glitter on the top for some sparkle. Fancy Pants ~ Daily Grind PP, Thickers & a white pen.

This Lo uses Navy Blue Sonic Velvet & Silver Satin Edge Organza from the kit. I also used the matching Ice Storm Buttons, Art Freckles Fall Equinox kit, and some twinkling H2o’s.

Oh Happy Day!

This was such a fun kit to work with!  Here are some of my projects for this month.

Cherry on Top

I used papers from my stash as well as a Maya Road cherry (covered with glitter) and ribbons from the Oh Happy Day kit here.

Princess for a Day

This was a fun layout to complete using mostly scraps.  Pink grosgrain from the kit was a perfect simple accent. 

Birds Notebook

I used the white lace trim from the kit as well striped seaside grosgrain from the store to embellish this altered notebook.  My sister is getting into bird watching, so my mom asked me to make this for a gift for her. 

Snowman Ornament

Used both the blue grosgrain and the green organza from the kit on this sparkly ornament.

Cupcake Coaster Mini

I know y’all are probably sick of seeing these, but they’re a great way to use up ribbon scraps!  Used lots of ribbons from the kit here as well as more Maya Road chipboard.

you might find them like this….  yes, this is how Santa carries the “Oh, Happy Day” kit from SNS!

“oh, happy Day” kit is that… a happy kit!  It is vibrant to use with your summer photos…

but at the same time, goes oh so perfectly w/ your Fall pictures and colors…

SnS November Kit~Ice Storm

This kit may be called ice storm but believe me, you can use it for much more than just winter pages!  The silver satin edge organza lends elegance to any project…and the laces, oh the laces make my heart go pitter patter!  I’ve created a number of projects with this kit and I still have plans to make more!  This is one fabulous kit!

Here, I sprayed 3 pieces of lace with gold glimmer mist and then layered them to create the top of the stocking. 

I used different pieces of ribbon to decorate these cards.

Here, I cut the a piece of the huge white cotton cluny lace and adhered it to the chipboard bird.

I used the white grosgrain to decorate the edge of the lid and to create a ribbon flower.

Deck The Halls with November’s ZZ Kit!

This month I’ve been working with November’s ZZ ~ Deck The Halls ribbon kit.  You know how sometimes it’s so hard to find that ‘perfect red’ when it comes to ribbon and lace?  Well folks, look no further.. this kit has it!

This month I wanted to do more then just the traditional Christmas themed projects with the reds, greens and creams of this ribbon kit..

You know... Girls Ride Too!

For the above layout I wanted to combine a masculine feel with a girlie spice to it.  I achieved this by using dark patterned papers, with the girlie flowers, lace and ribbon.

Creating your own diecuts

Hi everyone!

I was in a pickle the other day when I noticed I wanted to use some Fancy Pants wing die cuts but I wanted them to be both left wings (you know two wings exactly the same, not a pair of wings).  Check out the layout so you can see what I mean, you always get a left wing and a right wing and I needed two left wings for this photo.  So I though, I have enough scraps from the papers to create my own wing… a little duplicate wing.  So below are the steps to create a duplicate of a die cut in this case a little Fancy Pants wing.

1. Select the die cut you want to duplicate and the paper you want to use.  Trace the shape w/ a pencil into the selected paper.  I used one of the scraps of Fancy Pants paper so the new wing would look like it was part of the die cut paper.  NOTE: if you have already used the die cut you want but you still have the die cut paper it came in, you could use that as your template to trace around.
2. Make sure you traced it w/ the shadows where you wanted them to be in your die cut.  Cut out the shape.  I like to cut them a little bit smaller than the traced shape so I don’t have to erase the pencil.  You could also trace it on the back of the paper (flipping the figure) but in this case my other side was too busy and I wasn’t able to see the line I traced.
3. After you cut it out (isn’t it pretty) sand it out.
4. Add glitter w/ a little bit of glue or use stickles (I specially like the Frosted Lace Stickles).

Then just add them to your LO and I do like to add more Stickles somewhere on the LO just to tie things together and of course some ribbon is a MUST.  On this layout I used the Zany Zinnia November Kit – Oh, Happy Day.

Shaken not stirred…

Yes it’s November 14th and I’ve had the good luck to work with the awesome Olive Martini ribbon kit this month.

This ribbon kit is wonderful for Christmas projects. The greens go with so many of the Christmas papers out there. So here are some of my creations.

First I did a couple of paint cans for teacher gifts

Now some cards.

I think this has been my favorite kit to date.  I love all the ribbons in this kit.

Hexagon star bowl

Here is a little funky project for you, I got the template in a fabric store, it is originally meant for fabric, but I really wanted to adapt it to paper lol. So here it is!

I used SEI paper, because it is very sturdy and is double sided (which is what you need for this project), copper taper and that’s it pretty much!

trace your template on the paper

cut the hexagon shape out, and fold it, so the bottom of it forms a hexagon

get your copper tape ready, and start taping “petals” of the hexagon shape together

Continue taping all the edges and  folds on both sides of the paper bowl

Here is the outside of the bowl:

Use your new bowl for candy or for some ribbons!!!!
