ZZ March – Beach House Kit

 

ZZ March – Beach House Kit -  I love ribbon and days at the beach, taking a nice sun bath!!!!  So this kit was no surprise, when I picked it up… all I needed was some sand…    Go check out our SnS’ gallery with tons of more samples from the design team! My first sample is a mouse pad that I added some ribbon, on one of the sides.   Then I took the pastel color ribbons and used it against a bright color to make a more dramatic impact.   On this card, I just wanted to prove that you can mix and match “Fall colors” w/ pastel colors.   This card just screamed polka dots to me, I guess it’s the red polka dot ribbon in the kit!   Just a little detail to make this card from plain to fabulous!   All this LO needed was that little bit of green ribbon dividing those 2 pattern papers.

SnS His & Hers March Kit

For this first project, I used the eyelet lace and threaded it through my wires with my Bind-it-All. If fit perfectly!

For this next project, I used the Pink Lace {i love when it is stretchy like this} and layered it with some tulle.

Lastly, I did this layout of my son Henry. The twill in this kit takes Glimmer Mists and Color washes BEAUTIFULLY!

Katie’s Beach House Projects

This kit is soooo yummy!  And it seems that it matches perfectly with all my current fave paper lines–try it with BG Marrakech or Urban Prairie, Fancy Pants new summer line,  so much versatility!  I still have lots of ribbon left over for more projects as well! (click the above image to be taken to the store)

The Carousel

The sequin trim in the kit made a perfect girly alternative to the familar lasso/rope on so many cowboy and horse pages!  I just swirled it around on the page till I found an arrangement I liked and used a strong liquid adhesive to hold it in place.  Love how it just happened to match the horse perfectly!

Jungle

One of those pictures that didn’t work, but DID work at the same time.  I love this photo of DD.  She insisted that we were exploring the jungle when we walked the grounds of the St. Augustine lighthouse. 

Ice Cream

Proof that this ribbon kit works with just about anything!  I pulled random scraps from my desk and and glued them down just to see what would happen.   

Baking Bread

So glad I finally got a chance to scrap some photos of this routine at our house.  DD really gets into rolling out her bread dough!

SnS March – His & Hers Kit

This month I got to work with the delicious SnS March – His & Hers Kit. Great for guys and girls and anything in between!!

Altered Bird Cage

I altered this cute little bird cage candle holder with ribbon from the kit. I used fake grass for the nest and painted up a Maya Road chipboard tree for the bird’s branch. I covered a MR chipboard bird in paper and added a ric rac tail.

Card Set

I used the new Bo Bunny Alissa collection and coordinating stickers for these 4 matching cards. The colours of this paper set are so yummy together and the pink & white ribbon goes so well with it. 

Dairy Queen Layout

I used some ribbon layering and tying on this ice cream layout. The porcupine dreaming of popsicles is perfect for our trip to DQ.

2 Page Tea Party Layout

I just love all the new My Mind’s Eye Penny Lane collections. For this layout I used the MME Penny Lane Tiny Dancer Ballet line of papers and die cuts.

Using your Colorwashes and Glimmer Mists by ellen

Items you will need:

A tag or cardstock

Glimmer Mists

Color Washes

Paper towels

Water {preferably in a sink of you can, this can get messy}

• crumple your tag and wet it.

• i like to do this right in the sink. these are water based inks so they will wash out.

• while the tags are wet, spray them with your color wash.

• smear it around with a wet paper towel or your hands.

• if the color is too intense, wipe it off with a dry paper towel.
• 
• keep adding colors and repeating colors for intensity

• when you are done adding colors and get the look you want. DO NOT wipe off unless the colors are too intense but REMEMBER, as these dry, the get lighter.
• next add a liberal amount of glimmer mist

• finally, removed the tag from the sink, place on a  paper towel and allow to dry for a few hours.

Here is a layout i did with mine about 5 goals i set for myself in 5 months.
