Here is an accordian explosion album how to for you. It is great for a gift. I made mine in more masculine colours, but you can do anything!

First gather your supplies:
-3 12×12″ sheets of cardstock
-3 or 4 matching sheets of paper
-1 yard of ribbon
-matching embellishments (stickers, rubons, gems etc.)

I used Basic Grey Granola paper, stickers and rubons and Savvy n Sassy flannel grey grosgrain and navy blue grosgrain ribbon.
First take one 12×12″ sheet of cardstock, fold in half and score, open it up, fold in half the other way and score, open it up, then fold it on one diagonal and score. Repeat the same thing for your other 2 sheets of cardstock.

Arrange your 3 sheets of cardstock with the diagonal fold running bottom left to top right for all of them.
Place adhesive on only 2 squares. The bottom right square of one sheet and the top right square of another sheet.

Adhere the 3rd sheet of cardstock onto the 2 sheets with adhesive.

To fold it all up, your top square diagonal fold should bend downwards, your middle square diagonal fold upwards and your bottom square diagonal fold should bend downwards. Taking your top square fold the 2 diagonals inwards and the square will fold on top of them. Do the same for your bottom square. Fold the middle squares diagonals down and it will all fold together in a square.
Now open it back up and you are ready to decorate. You will need two 5 3/4″ squares for the covers, four 5 3/4″ squares for the inside and 12 trianges that are half of 5 3/4″ squares for the inside. Don’t make your embellishments too thick on the inside for folding it up.

Once you are done embellishing your inside papers you can adhere them. Fold your album up and adhere the front cover.
Before adhering your back cover, run a strip of adhesive across the middle of the back of the album. Centre your ribbon on the adhesive, so you can tie it on the front of the album.

Adhere your back cover on top of the ribbon.

Flip it over and tie your ribbon in the front. Snip off the ends of your ribbon and you’re done!
