I’ve been thinking of trying one of these simple 4×6 mini albums for a while.  It is perfect to take along on vacation or to give as a gift.  Inside there is just the right amount of space for a 4×6 photo on the left page with a space for journaling on the right page.  No cropping or further embellishments needed–just photos, glue, and a pen.

This mini book uses the brown grosgrain and white mini ric-rac from the July kit as well as ivory ric-rac and chestnut mini ric-rac from the Savvy n Sassy store.

Here are a couple of the “journaling” pages inside:

I made these simple cards using scraps from a couple layouts.  I plan to use them as birthday cards and to write in the date and birthday information for the birthday person when I send them.  🙂  Ribbons from the kit are used on both cards.

Also Included: Daisy D’s, Reminisce, and My Mind’s Eye papers; scalloped paper coasters; Cat’s Life Press stamp

In this layout I used the brown grosgrain ribbon from the kit by weaving it through some vintage crocheted lace.  Not only does it give a nice design element, it also makes it a lot easier to adhere the lace to the page.

Adding to the vintage feel of this page, all the papers are sanded and inked.  The edges of the photo are sanded as well.  Chipboard flowers are covered with vintage handkerchief material and then distressed.  I handcut the leaves from the reverse side of the patterned paper.

Also Included: We R Memory Keepers papers; Purple Onion stamps; various buttons; jute twine; 7 Gypsies stickers; The Paper Studio chipboard

Here’s a quick and fun way to incorporate ribbon into your pages.  I used ric-rac and buttons to frame off a section of the page.  You could also frame off the photo or the whole layout.

I also used some little ribbon scraps layered behind the journaling block to add more texture.

Also includes: Autumn Leaves paper, American Crafts chipboard; Purple Onion stamp; acrylic paint; and a scalloped paper coffee coaster
