I have to say I love this kit so much now I want to buy the Zany Zinnia paper kit as well!

My 2nd project was an altered composition book.  I have done these many times but love doing them so much I continue to make them.  This one is for me to use to put all my prayer requests, notes, etc. from a small group Bible study that my hubby & I are now in on Monday nights.  I used some of my Basic Grey Oh Baby Girl stash for the paper.  Which matches perfectly with this set of ribbon/lace!

Next on my long list of things I had wanted to do was a page for my BOM (book of me for any scrapping newbies).  A few years ago my beautiful daughter, Valerie, saved her money so she could buy me a pair of really good athletic shoes.  I am the ultimate tightwad when it comes to shoes & shop mainly at Walmart & Payless.  To this day I look at that pair of shoes (now pretty dirty & worn out) & think of how much love she put into that purchase & how I felt when I opened her gift on Christmas Eve.  Those years were very hard years.  My daughter had been diagnosed with several mental illnesses (no one ever could decide on which one was correct) and due to all of her troubles she had to spend several years in & out of group homes.  Ultimately she left our home when she was 16 to live in Wisconsin & it was very painful for me as her mom to let her go.  I knew she’d be coming back all grown up.  Sure enough at the age of 18 she was released back into our home.  We then moved back to Kansas where she met her hubby & she is now all grown up & married.  Anyway, these shoes just bring back a flood of poignant memories for me.  Some sad, mostly bittersweet.

as to the actual layout, I had an unused Crate Paper Seaweed kit.  I used that for this page & used Making Memories glitter letters adding glitter to them.  (if anyone has any tips on how to take good pictures of layouts using the color blue I’d love to hear it because everytime I do a layout with primarily light blues or greens it winds up washing out the entire photo of the layout.)

Thank you for looking!

Laugh and be happy!

What a great sentiment!! 🙂 Stamps used are from Great Impressions, paper by Cosmo Cricket and ribbons used are the red satin edged organza and also the turquoise sky lace from the July Tropical Breeze kit.
I applied a bit of glitter to the ribbon by attaching the blue lace to the red organza using sticky tape, the tape shows through the holes in the lace and if you dump glitter on top  it will stick in those spots, just pat down and then shakes off the extra glitter!

Making a visit

Making a visit!

O how I love this kit! You can make such different things with it. I’ve made 2 layouts and the minibook and have so much to play with yet!

Journaling:

While Hans and Regina are away with the canoe, Emil and I got a visit on the little beach from those 2 beautiful swans.

Or….. are we on visit at there normal sleeping place??

On of the canoe man has a baguette with him. Emil can feed that to the swans. They come very close. Even so close that I let Emil do a few steps back.

Emil isn’t afraid for the swans, but he has a appropriate respect for them.

I finished some cards with this kit. On the green card I used Bazzil card stock, a Heidi Swap black sticker, the SNS black lace and some bling and voila…a simple, easy elegant card. On the second orange card I used glitter on glue dots for another bling element!

The little purple butterfly card started with some blank butterfly cards that were sent to me from Impree Rubber stamps after I entered a card contest. They look so pretty with the purple SNS ribbon from this kit!

Finally, I created a lyout of my mom and her dear friend Jean and I used more bling and the black lace ribbon!
