Christmas Mini Matchbox Album

Another creation using the gorgeous Sept. Sassy Ribbon Kit, this is a gift I’m going to give to my nephew & his wife.  I thought a lot about doing one of these, I always buy the huge boxes of wooden matches & those boxes are so doggone cute!  I did not wind up using the actual box but used it as a template.

I learned how to make the lace flower just today after reading Wendy’s post on the altered frame (thank you Wendy!).  I covered a Cherry Arte chipboard flower with Basic Grey patterned paper.  Sanded the edges then inked them using Olive Green Versamagic chalk ink.  Basically the “ingredients” are:  Basic Grey Fruitcake patterned paper, Savvy N’ Sassy Sept. Sassy Ribbon Kit, Basic Grey Fruitcake tag, Wholy Cow Christmas rub on’s, ink, button, various rub on’s.

Thank you for taking a look!

Merry Christmas in September!

This month I had the privilege of creating with the September Sassy Ribbon Kit.  As the main colors of the kit are red, green & cream/white lace I chose to use it for my Christmas layouts & projects.  I’m still currently working on a mini accordian album & will post that soon.  But, I do have two layouts to share with you!

The pictures are of my daughter who is now 11 years old.  I changed them to sepia to give them a more vintage look.  The papers, tags, & letter stickers are all Basic Grey.  I attached the tags to some loopy brads by Karen Foster using little safety pins.

I used the same Basic Grey pack for this one (Fruitcake) & found this picture of my family back when it was missing quite a few persons (lol)!  The cardstock circle is from Topline Creations.  The chipboard heart is Lil’ Davis which I first painted with Making Memories paint then dabbed on a bit of the glittery Stickles then added some green Versamagic ink.  Rub on letters are from Creating Keepsakes.

Now, I love all of our ribbon kits.  But, this one is just amazing!  The ribbon is so thick & luscious in color!  It was funny because this ribbon kit matched with all of my Christmas Basic Grey papers as if they were all made for each other.  Same thing with the buttons I used.  Most of the ribbon (save one pattern that is very clearly Christmas) would be versatile enough to go well with other scrap projects; not only Christmas.

*site update*

OK, so here is some information on what is currently going on with this site switch.

This morning the site was being pointed to the old web host, which is why everyone was able to post in the forum and gallery.  I am usually a few hours behind this compared to everyone else, so just now I am seeing the old site.

As of about an hour and a half ago, the site was changed to point to the new host.  I’ve put images in the gallery, store and forum, on the old pages, explaining that everything is down.  So if you go to any of those pages, and see the image, you are still looking at the old site.  If you look at those pages and the images are gone (the ones with the pink bracket and black text) then you will be looking at the new site.

Judging from today, everyone will be able to see the new site, sometime tomorrow morning.  Except for me, it probably won’t show for me until tomorrow night. I hope this helps explain a bit what is going on and why the site keeps appearing and disappearing. lol.  But tomorrow {sometime} the site should be viewable for everyone and this should all be over.  Thanks so much for you patience and understanding as we get through this to make our site better.

25 years

Yesterday, 18 September, Hans and I knew each other 25 years…! We met each other at a party after the musical from the choir I was singing in. We danced together and he brought me home. And yes… we had our first kiss! I was only 15….! Can you imagine how my parents react??
But… they love Hans now!

I altered a box I made last year at a workshop day. This ribbon was begging for a Christmas-like something. So…. a Christmas box!
