{How-To} Folded Ribbon Heart

This month I had the fabulous opportunity to work with the beautiful ZZ Escape From Reality kit from Savvy N Sassy. While playing around with my ribbon, I discovered that I could create something very fun and easy using just my ribbon and a little bit of wire!

For this project, I used Pink Dot Tape (1 yard) and a little bit of Brown – White stitch.

I began by poking the wire through the pink ribbon, folding it in a fan like fashion. This photo should give you an idea of what I’m talking about!

I kept folding and poking the wire through until all the ribbon was used. Then I poked the ends of the wire through the opposite ends of the ribbon and twisted the wire together. Just like this:

You can shape this however way you like but I chose to shape it into a heart!

The bigger the piece of ribbon, the bigger the shape you can make!

Told you this was a fun and easy project to make!! And it’s pretty too!  See what you can create and don’t forget to share it in the Savvy N Sassy Gallery!!

Here’s the finished LO I created using the folded ribbon Heart!

January Savvy Kit

I have had so much fun this month with the January Savvy kit. The blues and browns are a refreshing combination and perfect for the winter months. My sister’s birthday is this month and I found it fitting to use the January kit for her birthday goodies. I altered this little container that was originally a Bo Bunny sanding kit package. I filled it with refreshing wintergreen mints and chocolate.

I also made an All Occasion gift set of cards. Photobucket
And lastly, I made this layout. It is for Vikki’s goal challenge for January over on the SnS message board. The ribbons and papers give the page a fresh feel which I think is perfect for January and fresh starts. My journaling is typed below the photo.
’08 One Goal

“The new year is here. I have spent a lot of time mulling over resolutions, goals, and ambitions. There is a lot of talk in the scrap community about choosing one word for yourself, for the whole year. There are lots of goals being set and planned. everyone seems to be getting fit, organized and settled. For me, I finally realize I have one goal, and one word. FINALLY. Finally be the woman on the inside, on the outside. Finally be who I feel I am. Finally feel revewed and alive in my life. Finally accept my life, my opportunities, my gifts for what they are, and finally LIVE as me. That is my one word, and my one goal.”

Enjoy this fresh new year! Set some goals, make some plans, and do some scrapping. I have my Fresh Start challenge posted, you can get the details here.
