The talent we saw this time around for the Design Team call was incredible!!  We thank-you all so much for putting yourselves out there, well done!

Unfortunately, as it goes, this call was only looking for two new team members… and we actually stretched that to three in the end!!  So without further ado, I’d like to give a HUGE welcome to our newest Design Team Members, they are…..

Aleksandra Sokal  (aka. Aleks)

Alidalis Acevedo (aka. Dalis)

Ann Seleshanko

We’d also like to announce that Tanisha Long will be joining our team, and Lacinta Naidoo will be coming on as our new Crop Co-ordinator!

The following Co-ordinators will be staying with us too;

Martina Brill– Design Team Co-ordinator

Shannon Wyman– Blog Co-ordinator

Katie Thornton– Promotions Co-ordinator

Renee McCloskey– Gallery Co-ordinator

We think we’ve put together a great team here, who are passionate about this hobby.  Their variations in style will provide you all with lots of fun and inspiration!

Name Banner

Hello girls!!!  I have this awsome project that I want to share with you!!!!  I am going to show you how to make a “name banner”.  These are so cute ~ my mom and her friend have been making tons of them for friends and family.  The college girls love them to decorate their dorm room/door with.

You will need: chipboard, pattern paper, large chipboard letters or large letter stickers, ribbon/lace, paint (optional) & misc matching embellishments.

Step 1 ~ Gather your supplies:

Step 2 ~ Decide what name you would like to create and trim enough chipboard for each letter in the name.  I used the 4″ Sizzix circle or you could just do squares.  Then paint the “backs” of you chipboard circles (or you could use cardstock or pp) and paint the front of your letters (if using naked chipboard letters):

Step 3 ~ Adhere co-ordinating pattern paper to “front” of chipboard squares (liquid adhesive works best):

Step 4 ~ Add letters and embellishments to the pattern paper/”front” side of your chipboard squares:

Step 5 ~ Punch holes opposite each other on the left side of the circle and the right side of the circle.  Tie short pieces of lace/ribbon to connect each letter in the proper order.  I used longer pieces for the ends so I had something to hang it by.  Hang & enjoy!!!!

The possibilities are endless and I would  love to see everyones projects ~ post them in the gallery at SnS.  Have fun girls!!!

PS:  Rhea ~ be looking for this in your mailbox in about a week (I plan on mailing it to you on Monday).  And I hope it will match your SB room (you recently painted it pink right?).

SnS June ~ Midnight Madness Kit

What a beautiful and fun kit to work with! I used almost every scrap of ribbon in this kit! You can get the kit at the SNS Store right HERE

My First Project is a 12 x 12 Layout:

{Angel} SnS June ~ Midnight Madness Kit

{Angel} SnS June ~ Midnight Madness Kit ~Detail

I created it for Guest Designer Corry’s June Challenge – Cuttin’ It! What a fun challenge, as I don’t normally cut out pieces of Patterned Paper. All the Challenges are Great at SNS! You can check them all out HERE.

In My {Angel} LO I used from the SnS June ~ Midnight Madness Kit Black – White Dot Organza – # 0400 & White – White Dots Organza – #0177. So easy to work with:) Other products Used: Red Heart Scalloped PP by Reminisce, IOD “Caliope” by Prima Marketing, Queen & Co Heart Felt Fusion, Stash Black PP, Digital Credit {Love} to Rhonna Farrer.

For my second project I altered photo clips I found on clearance. I thought they were cute, but a little plain. So I added some Black – White Dot Organza – # 0400 & White – White Dots Organza – #0177 to the “stems”. Then came some Prima Sprites 2 Flowers from our Prima Sprites 2 Swap. Added some stash brads and rhinestones and called it done. Except it needed to hold something just as funky. My Hybrid Photo (credits to Rhonna Farrer) and stash heart stickers, brads and Prima Flowers – Essentials 4 Royalty completes the look. LOL BTW I used my laminate/magnet cartridge for the xyron to laminate the photo. When I’m done with this display, it’ll become a magnet for my fridge. (A big one! LOL)

Black – White Dot Grosgrain – #0403, Black – White Dots Grosgrain – #0405, Black – White Swiss Dot Grosgrain – #0401, White – Black Dot Grosgrain – #0104, White – Black Dot Grosgrain – #0404, White – Black Dots Grosgrain – #0406, White – Black Swiss Dot Grosgrain – #0402, Black – White Dot Organza – # 0400 & White – White Dots Organza – #0177. The flowers are from the Prima Sprites 2 Swap. I decided to “stitch” my White – White Dots Organza – #0177 Ribbon to the Heart Felt fusion. Also used Stash vellum quote, stash flower.

I cut the black mesh eyelet tape to make tabs on the layout.

Ribbon and Magic Mesh

I created a card this week, using Magic Mesh and ribbon from Savvy ‘n Sassy

I actually created this by weaving the ribbon through the mesh! This was very easy to do.

Here are the supplies I used:

The ribbon is from the JUNE Sweet Magnolia kit!

I used wire as a needle so that I could weave the ribbon.

I started to weave the ribbon through approx every 3-4 squares. I tied a know in between the weaving.

I used a couple of different types of ribbon. Here’s what the finished product looked like!

So..go ahead! Give it a try!! And don’t forget to share what you made in the SnS Gallery!!
