Santa’s Sleight Ride!

I must say that if this kit doesn’t say Santa then nothing does.  It is just as bright and happy and the old fellow himself.  And if you have some leftovers after all that xmas scrappin’ this could be easily used for Valentine’s Day Cards too.

I love red,so this kit was up my alley and I must say I am very tempted to order one more, but of course I still have some leftovers.  SNS’ kits are always so big and full.  I hope you enjoy my samples.

merry xmas everyone!

Winter Wonderland

I was so lucky to receive this beautiful kit this month.

It is filled with :

7 Yards co-ordinating Ribbons (1 yard of each): Wine Grosgrain, Ivory Grosgrain, Jade Satin edge Organza, Gold Sain Edge Organza, Ivory Velvet, Wine Velvet Loop Braid, Raseberry Velvet Lace Beading.

These ribbons were a wonderful addition to the pages I used them on, and in all cases, they were the exact detail my pages needed to be completed.

I found myself reaching for the ivory grosgrain more often than not, and the Ivory Velvet is just lush and gorgeous.

Here are my creations using this kit:

This month I was so so happy to get to work with the All My Yesterday’s kit!  This kit has so many of my favorites, I felt like it was built for me!  All my favorite laces are included, as well as my all-time favorite ribbon-the black and white braid!  I have tons of ribbon and trim to work with still, but wih Christmas just around the corner, I decided I better share what I have so far.

So Sweet Layout

This layout used lace from the kit, organza from the store, and yummy Sweet Cakes paper by Pink Paislee (get some while you can!)

Snowflake Ornament and Stand

Rhinestone trim and lace from the kit embellish the stand for this glittered snowflake ornament.

(I have to apologize for some of my photos this month, as my normal photo place is currently taken up by a Christmas tree.)

Goddard Girls

For this simple layout, I just used black trim from the kit to frame the photo.

Story of Me Altered Journal

Once again used some of my favorite lace from the kit here.  Also added some of my favorite Olive Grosgrain from the store.  I love how the natural laces coordinate with these October Afternoon papers!

Apples to Apples Scrapbook Album

Admitedly, another album is the last thing I need, but these papers have been asking to be used for a long time and I finally gave in.  Laces from the kit and olive dot grosgrain are used on the cover, as well as throughout the 15 pages of the album.  Here are a few samples pages from inside:

SnS Snow Bunnies Kit

Savvy N Sassy does it again!!!   This kit is so versatile…the colors work for winter pages, summer pages and everything in between!

I used this kit to create a few altered Christmas projects and a summery layout.  Here, I altered a toilet paper roll…yes, I said toilet paper…(hey, with the state of the economy a girl must get her money’s worth in any way possible)…LOL!!  I simply wrapped the roll with a piece of Pink Paislee Tinsel Town, wrapped it in cellophane and tied the ends with the coral organza from the kit.  I added an embellishment and voila…quick and easy gift packaging for my handmade refrigerator magnets.

For this project, I altered a small round papier mache box to create a gift box that doubles as an ornament.  How clever is that?  Two for the price of one!

I absolutely adore the rich turquoise ribbon in this kit, it’s one of my favorite colors!  Paired with orange, this color is sure to give any summer  project  just the right amount of POP required!

With all the dark colours this kit is perfect for all those “guy” pages out there, but with the lace it can be used for feminine scrapping as well! You can find it right here. There are only a few left, so get them while you can!!

Since ’tis the season’ for Christmas cards…here are a few I made with the kit. I used pieces of the flannel grey grosgrain for the trunks of the Christmas trees.

I got some delicious new October Afternoon paper and stickers and just had to use them for a fun fall layout of the kids. I used the kit ribbon for a border across the bottom and side and a bow to finish it off.

BTW, Dalis is having a bow challenge over on our forum, so if you love bows go check it out!

And some more cards! The top 2 are using the Art Freckles November ‘Fall Equinox’ kit and the bottom 2 are using more October Afternoon papers.

And last but not least I made DH a mini clipboard for Christmas. Things for him to do and a pic of the kids!! I used the Art Freckles November kit for this one also. The ribbon kit matches it just perfectly!

I used up every inch of the pecan grosgrain and toffee satin edge organza, so I will definitely have to stock up on more of them!

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Now I must admit, that when I first saw this ribbon kit I wasn’t sure.  But once I started using it it just started to flow and I love the rich vibrant blues and pinks.  Perfect for winter cards and layouts and valentines projects. The colors match so many papers and embellishments. Here are some of the projects I did.

The first is using the new SEI Glitzmas papers. The blue ribbons in this kit are perfect.

A Kiss of Red and White

SnS December Ribbon Kit ~ Santa’s Sleigh Ride

If your a fan of red, this is definitely the kit for you!  So many wonderful ribbons in this kit.. and not just the ribbons are wonderful, but the different textures as well.  Velvets, sheer, polka dots and stitches… yumm!

Although the name hints of Christmas, I was inspired to use it in other ways… just goes to show you the versatilty of a great ribbon kit!  I hope you will feel inspired to add a little kiss of red and white to your next project!

All this layout needed was a little touch of that gorgeous satin edge white sheer ribbon.  By weaving it through my paper, it created a nice soft edge that compliments the journaling block.

On this last layout, I played with the polka dot ribbon a bit by adding stickles randomly to some of the dots!  Here’s a close up to give you a better view!

Last but not least, I want to wish you all the very best of this Holiday Season.  Having decided to pursue a venture of my own, I will be stepping down from my dt position here at Savvy N Sassy.  And although excited about my own venture, I will really miss being a part of this wonderful and extremely talented design team.   Thank-you so much to Rhea and Jaklin, and the Design Team gals! All the best to you!!
