Deck the Halls

Another beautiful, and “SOLD OUT” kit from Savvy ‘n Sassy.

This  beautiful and so versatile kit was perfect for this christmas page I did.

Note how the  celadon-white grosgrain  is layered over the lace to give the page a traditional, and yet funky feel.

On my next, fall inspired page, I used two types of lace trim and the same celadon-white grosgrain  again. These trims were perfect to give this page a whimsical air.

My last project was a Christmas page again, and the lace in this kit is PERFECT for the holidays. There were three different types of lace trims in this kit and I managed to use up practically all of them…yummy!xmas-am-2007

So, as you can see, this kit, as with most of the SNS kits, is super-versatile and adapts well to any scrapbooking style.

Square gift holder

This is a very quick and easy way to make a little holder for treats for the holidays.

5 – 4×4 pieces of chipboard

patterned paper to cover the chipboard

Liquid glue of some kind (I used Glossy Accents)

Cropadile or a single hole punch

coordinating ribbon

So I’ve assembled my materials

Next you want to cut 10 – 4X4 pieces of patterned paper to cover both sides of your chipboard

Cover both sides of your chipboard with the patterned paper

Now on FOUR of your pieces you will want to put holes on opposite sides of your square (so holes on 2 sides). Mine are 1 inch from the top and 1 inch from the bottom.  So now I have 4 pieces with holes and a bottom that has none

Next you want to tie your 4 pieces together to make a box. Thread your ribbon through the holes and tie into a knot.

Now you want to glue your bottom on.  Put a thin layer of glue on the ends of your square and stick it the bottom piece.  Here is a top view of my project.

Now you just need to decorate it and fill it with candy or a littele gift.
